I am looking for the best sounding pipes to put on my 2003 XL1200C. I have been looking at Rineharts, Sampsons, V&H, and Bassani. The main problem is yea they all look good but how can you hear them or tell what they sound like. Price is not a question because I will pay for the quality instead of buying 5 sets of pipes in 5 years!

Bassani Pro Streets have an awesome sound and perform also.

All the best, Ozzie

You won't get that answer on the net. Hit the bike nights and the dealers on the weekend. People here will tell you that theirs are the best. But if it helps any, I have Thunderheaders and they go VVRRROOOOM, VVRRROOOOM

I also run a Thunderheader on my Sporty, and it suits me just fine.
But, we really can't help you.
The best thing to do, is attend any of the bike swap meets or runs in your area. Listen to the different brand pipes that other guys have on their bikes, then make up your own mind.
(BTW, if you ask respectfully, most of us would be proud to start our bikes for you to listen to.)

Good Luck

The ThunderHeaders were my favorite choice for my '96 1200 Sporty. I haven't seen any others I would choose over them for a Sporty. Great sound/performance/style (to me, anyway, on a Sporty)! Put them on when the bike was new (in '96), and they're still on it today (sold it to a friend in May). I didn't bother w/the heat shields, but I don't mind a bit of the hot-rod pipe blueing. These were taken just before it was sold.....
