I have a set of pushrods on a '93 EVO. I did base gaskets on it and trying to adjust the pushrods out. I dont know what brand they are but I do know they are fine thread. I know each brand usually has their own specs for adjustments. Also, fine thread vs course thread. Anybody have any tips for adjustment.

I use .100" preload. If you don't have a thread pitch gage, with a pushrod out of the motor, use a set of calipers to determine the number of turns and flats it takes to move the nut .100". Unscrew the locknut away from the fixed nut and take a measurement between the two. Turn the locknut, counting the turns and flats til you get the preload measurement plus the initial gap. Some people use different preloads, this is what works for me.

A simple way is to get the pushrod in place and all the play out with lifter on base circle of cam, now, with the lockdown nut against the pushrod but not tight, keep it in place and expand the pushrod until you can get 100 thousand feeler guage between the lockdown nut and pushrod. Then, while holding the adjustment in place, lock down the nut.
